Read more on this story here. The Bureau of Land Management has been taking Cliven Bundys cattle, claiming that he is improperly grazing them on federal land. Yet Bundy and his family have been grazing them on the same land since the 1880s, long before the creation of the Bureau of Land Management came into existence. Bundys son was thrown to the ground and arrested when he stood on a public road to take pictures of what the government was doing.
As the video above shows, the tension got even greater after the federal agents showed up with backhoes and clashed with protesters questioning the action. Agents tased one man repeatedly, allegedly hit people with slow moving vehicles and at least one woman was thrown or knocked to the ground at around :30.
Yup. I have friend that a USFS forester accused of assault..after the forester assaulted him! Yelling match basically. So the feds sent out the enforcement officer and they later had to drop the case. The judge made them all come in on a federal holiday and sign the legal dismissal papers.
Are they BLM? I dunno about Nevada, but here in CO, BLM has extremely limited jurisdiction on public lands - if they want any type of enforcement action, they need to call in the local county Sheriff. Are those BLM agents or county deputies?
And I'm curious, why are the protesters unarmed?
Armed BLM agents. NOT Sheriff’s deputies.
Clinton is a lesser god and his works must be outdone.
Looking more and more like it.
No guarantee that they are, actually.
They just present well.
Pay the rent went you use land you don’t own! Why should the expect to not get evicted for not paying rent??

Because it is PUBLIC LAND, because WE are ALL paying for it with OUR
taxes!! I for one give him permission to use it! This is the communist EPA
again over some stupid desert turtle!!!!!!
They used to pay rent, then stopped, why?? Normally when ranches use government land they pay rent - - why should this ranch be any different? If it’s public land I own it too - and I expect the government to not let anyone use it for free.
That’s how real life works.
I can guarantee when the militias arrive THEY WILL be armed to the
hilt!!!! FINALLY someone standing up to this criminal gang administration!!!
” According to court documents, As this court previously ruled in United States v. Bundy, Case No. CV-S-98-531-JBR (RJJ), 1998 U.S. Dist. (D. Nev. Nov. 4, 1998), the public lands in Nevada are the property of the United States because the United States has held title to those public lands since 1848, when Mexico ceded the land to the United States.
The court case can be read here:

When you want to use something that you don’t own and never have owned expect to pay rent!
Are you kidding me! This land is in the middle of NOWHERE!! His cattle
is grazing it is public land I want the government to MIND THEIR OWN
DAMNED BUSINESS, if you want rent write the guy a letter and ask him for a few bucks!!! Gimmee a break!!!!
I heard some people asking the “Rangers” why they had brought backhoes, though I didn’t see any included in the youtube footage.
I too want to know why backhoes.
Good to see that damn near everyone was video recording the incident. Hope that the several people did 360 views to track and record all BLM personnel and equipment.
Dogs. Shades of Bull Connor!
Did you fid it strange that the “Ranger” SUVs had no agency identification?
If this blows up big, expect to see baneful Federal regulation to be reined-in, deregulated, and expunged.
I would also expect that people that rent government land pay rent to use it. That’s the way real life works.
What a concept!
All controlling OBots - The desert turtle lives there and the cows threaten turtle. Cacti and desert fauna and the little beetle are hurt too Boo hoooo Waaaaaah. /sarc
Ukrainevada
Here’s your penny. Actually, government does not own the land but manages the land for the public. The rancher and his family have been grazing on this land for what about 150 years. The federal law here may need to be modified. That’s how it works.
