On the 40th anniversary of his momentous 715th home run that broke Babe Ruth's MLB home run record, which is the most meaningful in all of sports, Hank Aaron equated Republicans who oppose President Barack Obama's policies to the KKK.
Aaron implied that conservatives are racists who now wear "neckties and starched shirts" instead of hoods.
In an interview with USA Today's Bob Nightengale on Tuesday, "Hammerin' Hank" lamented that the country has not progressed far enough on race relations, saying that though the nation has a black president, "President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he's treated."
"We have moved in the right direction, and there have been improvements, but we still have a long ways to go in the country," Aaron said. "The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts."(continued)

Its not the black thing. Its the poopy thing.
great ballplayer. political dope
Rather than well-earned praise, he instead got spat on, cussed out, etc.
If he wants to return bigotry with bigotry, then I'm OK with that.
I just wish that all of the blacks that have experienced little or no racism, and have gotten all of the favors they have from a government filled with black and white bureaucrats, would stop it with their completely hypocritical and unjustified whining and thoughtless and bigoted claims of white racism.
I don’t care what friggin color he is. I hate what he is doing to America, he hates it and doesn’t even try to hide it.
Whatever, Hank. Pay your taxes!
Guess Hank Aaron has conveniently forgotten the KKK were Democrats
Aaron might want to look into which political party the KKK were part of. Kind of make him look dumb now.
Speaking of “dope”, if he were an active athlete in any decades later than the 70s, the question of “doping” would be raised, throwing his HR “legitimacy” into question.
You’re OK with Aaron taking the low road?
Mark Levin mentioned that Aaron probably did this on behalf of his brother in law David Scott (D-GA).
So it’s whitey’s fault again???
Yawn.
Good point. As someone who feels similarly to him, I would add to what he says that I hope Hank can get over the bitterness and find peace. Hank couldn't even stay in the same hotel with his team because of security for the death threats. The bodyguard stayed in a room registered to him and he stayed in the room registered to the bodyguard. When they had specific descriptions of people pledged to kill him, the team would scan the crowd for them from the dugout. Hank told his teammates not to sit next to him, in case the nut did manage to get a shot off.
fuha
Every celebrity gets hate mail.
Aaron also had plenty of adoring white fans, including the two that escorted him, gleefully, around the bases when he broke the record.
He’s a dope and a juicer in my book. F him.
I thought he was already dead...: )
The only sane criticism in regards to skin color would be to solely blame Obama for being such a lousy black president.
