It would just KILL those people if they had to do something PRODUCTIVE for a living in the private sector.

Hell, are there many productive jobs left even in the private sector? I don’t consider healthcare, selling people things, banking, or developing games/websites to be ‘productive’. Service type jobs are ‘parasitic’ in nature to real productive areas, such as manufacturing/natural resources. Take away the productive parts, and you have an economy that’s just moving money/credit around for the sake of doing it.
