“The conflict between the federal government and this rancher arose long before the current muslim regime/illegal cabal you describe.”

True, but until this week, the gov’t didn’t surround him with 200 armed personnel (snipers; etc).

They’re ramping up b/c they need a shootout, to trigger more uprising, so they can blame Whitey and clamp down.

They need Martial Law ASAP.

Yeah, the political/regulator class likes to sponsor media presentations of the if-y cases but not the real cases.

The Vern Wagner Saga - A modern-day Western of one man against the State of Colorado and the Park County Sheriffs

Have fun. Enjoy the slide and meatless diets.

The conflict between the federal government and this rancher arose long before the current muslim regime/illegal cabal you describe.

From what I've read, the conflict has been going on 20 years, through the Clinton and Dubya administrations. What am I missing?

If I bought some horses and cattle, and hauled them out to some BLM land to graze for free, would a great swarm of idiots rise up to support me when the BLM tried to turn off my free livestock feeding scam?

Awe, come on man, that's not what happened, though.

I will say to your question, then yes, if you did just as you said then you would be committing a scam. But that's not what happened.

He didn't bring some cattle out, haul them in, or any of that. The family he descends from has ranched there and grazed cattle in all that desert since the 1870s. The BLM didn't even exist then. There was also no EPA, militarized federal police, helicopters, drones, tanks, etc., etc. Just ranchers claiming their part of the Western wilderness and we were proud of them and our nation was better due to the pioneer spirit they brought with them.

Your case is a strawman that does not fit what is going on at all.

What seems to be missing in all of this is why after 20 years is this coming so near bloodshed? We are missing key to this story somewhere.

Open Range isn’t “ended” in Nevada. I just bought a section over there in 2013 and it was stated right in the documents. If you don’t want livestock on your land it’s your duty to fence them out.

It would be nice if someone was to post pictures that enable us to identify the thugs carrying guns, the snipers and the rest of them government cowboys. It wouldn’t take too much before we could identify where they live.

You know, just let them sleep with one hand on the nightstand for a few months and see if they really want to be a G-man.

I agree completely that the amount of firepower the government has put into play is lunacy.

True, but until this week, the gov’t didn’t surround him with 200 armed personnel (snipers; etc).

True, but until this week, the court-ordered period for him to remove his horses or have them declared trespassing horses subject to immediate removal by the BLM didn't expire.

That, and the gov't didn't surround him with its over-reactive firepower. The government set up a perimeter around its land. He is outside that perimeter.

Twenty years ago, his grazing agreement with the BLM expired. He and his family had been paying the federal government for the right to graze on the land at issue. The new agreement offered by the BLM provided for an increased grazing fee. Cliven Bundy refused to sign the agreement and has not paid grazing fees to anyone since them. The unpaid fees amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars (hundreds of thousands of dollars that other ranchers throughout the west are paying in grazing fees).

He's been ordered by federal courts to remove his cattle from the land several times in the last twenty years, but he refuses to do so. A federal court recently gave him 45 days to remove his cattle (again). The order said that if he didn't remove his cattle from the government's land, the cattle would be declared trespassing cattle and would be removed by the BLM. Bundy took no action. The BLM has taken action and, in typical government fashion, has over-reacted.

His family owns land in Nevada but has never owned this land. It has belonged to the federal government since the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The government has charged grazing fees for use of this land just as has for other government land throughout the west.

Ann Barnhart is correct. This is not our battle.
