One oft-made argument against illegal immigration is that it is morally wrong simply because it is illegal. Immigrants have an obligation to obey the law. If they violate it by entering the country illegally, that by itself is enough justification for deporting them, regardless of whether their illegal entry actually harms anyone or not. In an interesting recent Fox News interview, former Florida governor and possible Republican presidential contender Jeb Bush takes issue with some aspects of this argument:
Jeb Bush said the debate over immigration reform needs to move past derisive rhetoric describing illegal immigrants.
The former Florida governor said in an interview Sunday in College Station, Texas, that people who come to the United States illegally are often looking for opportunities to provide for their families that are not available in their home countries.
Yes, they broke the law, but its not a felony. Its an act of love, its an act of commitment to your family, Bush told Fox News host Shannon Bream at town hall event at the George Bush Presidential Library Center .
I honestly think that is a different kind of crime, that there should be a price paid, but it shouldnt rile people up that people are actually coming to this country to provide for their families, he said.
I think we need to kind of get beyond the harsh political rhetoric to a better place.
In contrast to many critics of illegal immigration, Bush recognizes that the reasons why illegal immigrants violate the law matter to any moral evaluation of their actions. Those reasons might be irrelevant from a standpoint that condemns all illegality equally, regardless of the situation. But few Americans actually endorse any such position....

Who cares? As long as they’re arrested and deported the law is being served.
Please! They no more feel an obligation to follow the law when they first cross the border anymore then they feel an obligation to follow the law after they cross the border.
If they belonged to a Christian church, you would think that they would know how immoral their life becomes when they smuggle themselves into a foreign country and flaunt it’s laws and become a part of a community of criminals and stolen documents, forgery, and a life built on lies and crime.
It isn’t just a single immoral act, it is a premeditated choosing of a criminal lifestyle, a long term commitment to living wrong.
Gosh, what an asinine question. Of course they do. If for no other reason than international law and national Sovereignty .
if they don’t nobody can argue why any americans have to obey any mexican laws while’in mexico.
ummm, you know that is not happening, right? or did i miss the sarc...?
Robbing a bank to take care of your family could also be considered an act of love. Embezzling from a large company might not hurt anyone and if it is done as a commitment to your family then that could be considered an act of love.
Murdering your cheating husband to get insurance money to send your kids to college could be considered an act of love.
Jeb Bush has disqualified himself from ever again holding public office of any kind.
Do those things and illegal aliens will deport themselves and pay for the trip.
I can not tell you how sickened I am about the so called leaders of this country encouraging lawlessness.
“Who cares? As long as theyre arrested and deported”
Right. Those in the executive branch of our government are elected and paid to execute our laws. It is not their prerogative to enforce only those laws that favor their constituencies, while ignoring those laws that they don’t like.
They have an obligation to do an act of love, and stay the F out. Come to America the legal way.
Actually they are breaking Mexico law as in the 1917 Mexican Constitution which does not allow Mexican citizens to leave Mexico without first getting written permission from their local consulate.
Double jeopardy flouted by both govts.
If you don't like your health care law you can just rewrite your health care law.
(If you're The Won)
They are hungry for a better life and the border is wide open. The GOP when in control did not deal with the issue. The DEMS won’t deal with the issue.
Meanwhile you have high school grads that have gone all the way through school from kindergarten and they are called illegal.
The ones that should be deported are the ones in Congress for creating a giant, collasal, humungous mess.
Your post is complete and total BS, no offense intended.
Oh the visual of Linsie Graham and Bohner and Cantor getting deported, just pouf, you gotta go is amusing.
Like in the “Holy Grail” when the guy answers the troll’s question wrong, after ansering a few very complicated questions right, he says red is his favorite color, “no, it’s blue... ARRGH!” Off he goes with the force of an unseen authority.
LOL
When an illegal enters the country it puts the country in danger for the simple fact that the illegal could be anybody, from a serial killer, rapist, robber, terrorist, or somebody carrying a plague like disease, you just don’t know. Protection of the country is why we have an immigration system, and anytime someone bypasses that or supports it they are making a direct threat toward the country.
I like to tell liberals “Leave your door wide open at night and post signs all over town telling people anybody can walk in while you are sleeping and tell me if you think that is safe” Illegal immigration is the SAME thing and any politician who supports that is not only breaking his oath of office but is also committing TREASON.
Idiots like Jeb Bush should look at websites like this:
