Most of us pay some attention to the weather forecast. If it says it will rain in your area tomorrow, it probably will. But if it says the same for a month, let alone a year, later, it is much less likely to be right. There are too many imponderables.
The theory of global warming is a gigantic weather forecast for a century or more. However interesting the scientific inquiries involved, therefore, it can have almost no value as a prediction. Yet it is as a prediction that global warming (or, as we are now ordered to call it in the face of a stubbornly parky 21st century, global weirding) has captured the political and bureaucratic elites. All the action plans, taxes, green levies, protocols and carbon-emitting flights to massive summit meetings, after all, are not because of what its supporters call The Science. Proper science studies what is which is, in principle, knowable and is consequently very cautious about the future which isnt. No, they are the result of a belief that something big and bad is going to hit us one of these days.
Some of the utterances of the warmists are preposterously specific. In March 2009, the Prince of Wales declared...

Last week, the latest IPCC report made the usual warnings about climate change, but behind its rhetoric was a huge concession. The answer to the problems of climate change lay in adaptation, not in mitigation, it admitted. So the game is up.
Scientists, Rupert Darwall complains, have been too ready to embrace the subjectivity of the future, and too often have a cultural aversion to learning from the past. If they read this tremendous book they will see those lessons set out with painful clarity.

The caption: "Power station emitting steam and smoke."
They look like cooling towers for a nuclear reactor, where, as far as I know, there is no smoke.
Does anyone know if fossil fuel power plants use towers like this?
If no, then this photo is a serious error.
I completely agree with the author's point of view.
But, once again, it looks like carelessness, probably by an editor, has given the Global Warmers a perfect chance to mock us, the Warming Skeptics.
Actually, the presumption of the Constitution is that the right to bear arms and all the other freedoms we possess are already ours. The Constitution doesn't provide them because they are God-given and already belong to us.
Notice how the first ten amendments are written. "The right...shall not be infringed, abridged, etc." They simply confirm what is already ours. They are written to tell government that they cannot touch the rights and freedoms that are already ours - that which the Constitution itself does not specifically enumerate as a delegated power to the federal government belong to the states and the people (10A). Of course throughout the centuries, these have been misconstrued and twisted to be thought of as rights given by these Amendments. But these amendments are not written that way.
The Constitution was written with the presumptions contained in the Declaration of Independence: that all men "are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights." The DOI is a presumption of and carries persuasive authority in the Constitution becasue of its close ties both in time and authorization.
You still got those old fashion carbon credits?
I traded mine in for Bit-carbons, they only exist on
the internet so I don’t have to worry about the future.
global warming is a hoax that democrats created to justify the growth of government
If you made $100,000 per year after taxes then you could buy anything you could ever need in the free market because someone would produce it for money( look at the millions of products for sale on Google , internet , ebay , amazon,Walmart, Dollar Tree etc etc). So we dont need government for ANYTHING. private industry created a whole city DISNEY WORLD in Florida. So democrats create fake crisis like global warming,no health insurance crisis to justify the very existence of government and the continued growth of government(socialism)
Wow, that’s an awesome picture, and a great one liner.
wouldn’t stirring up all of that moisture as it heads inland have an effect on the weather?
Also, where I live, “wind” is the mortal enemy of fog.
In that picture, however, it looks like the man-made wind is creating the fog.
