Eliminate paper money and you put drug dealers and strip clubs out of business. There would be no beggars on intersections. The underground economy collapses.
I only use cash to pay my car mechanic (he gives a cash discount) and to leave tips at restaurants. Tips in cash are never reported as income, and I like to keep as much money as possible out of the hand of the government leviathan.

Rather than disappearing, the demand for paper currency is rising faster than inflation or population . . . Create a socialist economy where the government has to steal a little bit of every transaction and the underground economy grows and thrives. It ain't rocket science.

This. It was always interesting to see the look on their face when I said, “Do you take plastic, cause that’s all I got.” One young one quipped back, “Good one!” :-D
I was actually approached in a parking lot just yesterday by a beggar and gave him that line. He stared at me like he was rebooting.
