Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz politely denounced former Florida Gov. Jeb Bushs defense of illegal immigration, explaining that breaking the law is not positive and beneficial and that turning a blind eye while illegal migrants cross the border is not a humane system.
Cruz appeared on CNNs The Lead with Jake Tapper to discuss Bushs comments from Sunday, when he attempted to somewhat justify illegal immigration by noting its not a felony and is an act of love [and] commitment to your family.
Theres no doubt that immigrants come to this country because they are seeking a better world, they are seeking the American dream and theyre seeking a better life for their kids, Cruz said. And all of that is positive and beneficial. What isnt positive and beneficial is breaking the law to do so.
In my view, we need to be a nation that welcomes and celebrates legal immigrants, the senator continued. People who follow the rules and come here according to the law. Were a nation of immigrants, we need to celebrate that. But at the same time, rule of law matters. And if you look at any sovereign nation, securing your border is critically important.
And Ill tell you one of the big reasons has to do with just the humanity of it, Cruz explained. If you come down to Texas and you see the conditions where you see photographs that are heartbreaking, of bodies of women and children left abandoned in the desert, because they entrust themselves to transnational global criminal cartels who smuggle them in, assault them and leave them to die.

Why don’t Jeb and Columba just move to Mexico. It would be an act of love for America.
My answer: Because we are a Christian, and caring, country.
Uh-oh.
Okay, Ted, why does an immigration system, or any part of it, need to be “humane”?
*************
Uh-oh! Here come the Sen Cruz concern trolls.
So, immigrating to the USofA should be inhumane? Is that what you’re saying?
Granted. But immigration policy needs to be rational. Humanitarian immigration (legal and illegal) is killing us.
I helped vote him into office. You're saying we shouldn't be concerned about politicians we mostly agree with? Not trusting an allied politician makes one a troll?
FOX is really pushing Jeb. Starting to make me mad. We do get to actually vote in the primaries I thought. These RINOS forget the fact that Republicans would not have the house if it wasn’t for the TEA Party movement. I think they will be surprised at the force of the movement.
Since you didn’t answer my questions, I’ll ask them again...
So, immigrating to the USofA should be inhumane? Is that what youre saying?
Jeb bush is an idiot.
No, I'm not saying should be inhumane. I'm asking why it needs to be humane.
Why should humanitarian issues be considered. Humanitarianism is the hook by which the entire world claims the US as their entitlement.
There are entire communities in America that have been destroyed by the "humanitarian" resettlement of Somali jihadists. How is that humane?
Fox? Pushing Jeb?
Really? I don’t know, tuning in to Jeannine Pirro for her weekly rant and being disappointed by a Brit Hume preemption of a one hour portrayal of the Bush family? Like that?
Ugh. My hair hurts!
“Why isnt Jeb working to make Mexico a better place?”
******************************************************************
He has been for a number of years. Mexico becomes a better place when their uneducated and criminal are unloaded on the USA.
Of course, the US becomes a correspondingly worse place. That’s apparently OK with the Bushes.
Sigh, Good Point...
Exactly. How does Mexico get away without criticism? The illegal immigrants are their people. Is the US the only country that is held to a “humane” standard?
Jeb is a loser. His adoration of illegal aliens is like a fetish.
Tonight feast your eyes on GWB sitting with WJC in Jerry World. BARF
Jeb should illegally immigrate to Mexico to show how it’s dome.
if I go out and rob a bank tonight to pay my child support...will the courts just slap my wrists, and say...just an "act of love"..
We are vigilantes... but they support poaching and use their political privileges to get money from mob bosses...
I am sick of the Bushes.
