I don't have a problem leaving our military dependents allies to fend for themselves, given that their defense policy - reflected in minuscule budgets as a % of GDP - since the end of the Cold War has been to fight their enemies to the last dead American. But people like Paul seem to have this idea that the US is the root of all evil in the world. Were they born defective, or were they repeatedly dropped on their heads as kids?
I agree to an extent. We must remain a leader, but we pull back to the extent of forcing these other countries to militarize. We need to carry a big stick, but we do not need to be forced to risk American lives and money exclusively as we have recently.
Seeing Paul use the BS leftist tactics of attacking Halliburton are a big, big, big question mark, though. It’s one thing to take a different stance. It’s another to use wacky conspiracy theories. I am sure we’ll now find he was out there talking about ‘war for oil.’
