Mr. Putin is reasserting Russia’s Christian identity which makes the EU queers and neocon bobble heads queasy.

I’m not entirely sold on Putin’s sincerity there. I think he is one of those secular rulers who has the sense to fear provoking the Almighty, however. I’m thinking of men like Cyrus, Pilate, Gamaliel and Constantine. He may be just a cynic, viewing religion as a useful tool of state.
What I do know is that the secular west is at an historical nadir. It is perverse and oppressive, and its influence should be thwarted.
Psalm 2 says it all. It also provides for the ‘kings of the earth’ to back up, adopt some existential humility, and spare their nations judgement.
“Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.”
We *might* be seeing that in post-Soviet Russia. We are beset daily with the rampant opposite of that right here, right now.
Time will tell who got it right.
Has he publicly scolded them for taking drugs and consorting with prostitutes?

He's more a Nietzshean: Christianity is for those poor suckers we rule. The rulers can be hedonists.
