NEW HAVEN, Conn. Ted Kennedy Jr. is planning to run for the state Senate in Connecticut.
Two people briefed on the decision say the son of the late U.S. Sen. Ted Kennedy of Massachusetts will announce Tuesday that he intends to seek the Democratic nomination for the state's 12th District. They spoke on condition of anonymity because Kennedy wants to make the announcement.
Kennedy is a 52-year-old health care lawyer who lives in Branford, a coastal town outside New Haven, and has been mentioned as a possible political candidate for years. He had said last month he was considering running for the seat.

Howie Carr list ping. Also Howie tweeted that IF Mickey Rooney was in the last death pool there will be a death pool coming up.
Ted Sr., can claim the first clean kill in the Democrats’ “War on Women.”
No more Kennedys.
Is he the son who had his leg amputated due to bone cancer when he was a boy? Sorry to ask if it’s mentioned in the article. This is one article I don’t care to read, so I admit, I didn’t read it. The headline is revolting enough.
Hell, I am surprised that Neil Bush and Chelsea Clinton haven’t assumed their rightful places in seats of power.
Hasn’t his family done enough damage to this country already?
Why can’t the guy just be satisfied that his father’s legacy is turning this country into a third-world crap-hole, without adding his own crapulence to the mix?
I heard that Ted’s wish was that Caroline become a Senator, so that a Kennedy would be in the U.S. Senate after he was gone.
It didn’t happen, as Caroline’s efforts to be appointed to the Senate vaporized.
But, to me, it reveals a mindset that somehow these Kennedys think they are entitled to power, entitled to public office.
Then again, they wouldn’t be there if people didn’t vote for them. What do you do, when mindless voters, who will vote for anything running as a Democrat, keep electing Kennedys????
I’ve never understood how so many people have come to revere the Kennedy family as some sort of American royalty.
I also fail to understand people talking about the many tragedies of the Kennedy family. The assassinations are true tragedies, in my opinion. But some people lump in Chappaquiddick or the William Kennedy Smith rape case into Kennedy family tragedies. To me, self inflicted wounds are hardly on the same level as political assassinations.
Are they trying to kill this state?
Howeva, how is this gonna go over with the Clan Gonzalez, Lateesha and Dawntay? Is the remaining Catholic euro-peasantry in the Nutmeg State enough to secure this ofay a seat?
BTW, is this one of the rare Kennedys with some sort of brain, i.e., smart enough to do as he is told and read the Lefty Teleprompter?
Yes he did lose a leg due to bone cancer earlier. As you see in the pic, Ted’s two sons are Ted Jr and Patrick “Patches”
while Kara died in 2011 (born in 1960) and Joan turned to the bottle herself and there were some sad incidents involving her in recent years.
Agreed, but again Barney Frank’s old district saw fit to elect Joe-Joe-Joe Kennedy the IIIrd or 4th or whatever (son of “Joe for Oil” who in turn was one of RFK’s sons)
Oh dear God help us, will the nightmare ever end?
I went to Phillips Academy (Andover) in the same class as JFK Jr.
One night (would’ve been in the Spring of 1979), a guy knocked on my dorm room door. Said he was looking for his cousin John Kennedy. I didn’t really believe him, but I pointed him in the right direction.
The guy was bombed, stinking drunk. Could smell him from 6 feet away.
That’s him on the left.
Sounds right. Meanwhile let’s hear it for Ted Sr who hasn’t had a drink in 5 years!
The east coast folks really like to elect low IQ reps, don’t they?
And they like to simultaneously lecture folks on Sarah Panin’s supposed “stupidity”.
She’d have to be dead for a week for her abilities to lower to that of a typical Kennedy.
I hope this Ted Kennedy doesn’t turn out to be a wife-beating drunk who kills innocent girls while DUI and votes as a communist. Odds should be pretty good that this one will be an improvement over his namesake. Of course, given how little attention the Kennedy parents paid to their kids, the odds aren’t anywhere near as good as they would be with a normal family.
Another Kennedy in political power, just what the Country needs. But he will probably fit right in in CT
