A candidate has a choice, to either concentrate on doing right or learning to perform for the cameras.
I think it did Freedom no favor when getting elected was more slick promotion and 3 second sound bytes became more important than the message.
Still, every now and then a “natural” comes along like Reagan. Cruz has that, whether he can get elected and accomplish more than RWR is yet to see out. I think as POTUS, Cruz would be better at dealing with Congress and a 2016 tidal wave could put strong control under his watch and roll back many bad ideas going back to LBJ.
