I cannot attest to Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale as I have no relationship with that church. I am only specifying that Calvary Chapel founder Chuck Smith, and current leadership who are the voice of that church group, speak out against the emergent church and contemplative prayer. If you are referring to a specific Calvary Chapel location, please make that clear so you do not mislead people into believing it is a Calvary Chapel-wide issue.

My apologies, I thought that I had made it clear that I was speaking about the Pastor and church the article referred to. I am very glad to hear from you that the current leadership of the original Calvary Chapel is speaking against these dangers now. That is very good to know, and I thank you for letting us all know that. I hope they go further and disassociate with their branches who are allowing it. That would help clear up the confusion, as so many Christians don’t even know the emergent church and contemplative prayer is dangerous. They just assume their church teaching it is okay because they trust the “Calvary Chapel” label.
