Yes, Bob Hope one of the greatest, too. Mickey did all the same, as well, from age ~15 months to his death at 93. I loved Mr. Hope, but still give the edge to Mr. Rooney.
It’s interesting how multi-talented were so many of the old stars. I saw Frankie Avalon at Disney World years ago, and he was very entertaining. Sang, danced, played the trumpet (well), told funny jokes. He wasn’t just the guy from the beach movies w/ Annette.
I’d agree, Rooney was multi-talented (including drums) and long-lived, but I would give the edge to Hope. He put his name out there in the en-masse public eye all the time so no one forgot him and even we youngsters knew who he was without having to wait for the 1 o’clock movie (weekday) rerun on CBS.
