While I defend the “right to bear arms”, I was never a gun nut. When I bought a farm in west Tennessee, I also bought a 22 rifle to shoot varmints. I did have to use it once when a mad dog killed a few cats. Later, A neighbor insisted that I keep a 380 hand gun that he gave to me. It stayed on a closest shelf for some years before I gave it back to him.
I can not imagine a life where I feel the necessity to be armed, as in the old wild west.
Trust the tin-badge boys to protect you, eh? They have no duty to protect any individual.
