DETROIT (WWJ) Detroit police are working to identify 10 or 12 people behind a vigilante mob attack that left a 54-year-old man clinging to life after he allegedly struck a child who had darted into the street.
As first reported by WWJ Newsradio 950, an 11-year-old boy suffered a broken leg when he was hit by a pickup truck after he walked into the street near Morang and Cadieux. When the driver got out of his car to check on the boy, about a dozen men on the scene attacked him, beating him unconscious, according to police.

NO he wouldn’t
Make no mistake, they tried to kill him!
your awesome.
you are
That’s true, I have lived in this old town neighborhood for 26 years, it was once beautiful, now it is a war zone.
If you dare to speak about it on forums you are labeled a racist.
Yes, they almost dare you to hit them, they block the streets with their cars, and glare at you while you politely wait for them to finish their conversation with the ten pedestrians, who are just waiting for you to make a move.
My more liberal acquaintances who live in the burbs and vote and pander, wont even come into my neighborhood, hypocrites, yes there is such a thing as white guilt.
It wouldnt happen to a black driver in a white neighborhood either.
= = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
I have never lived there myself, but I understand that if a Black were to ‘get in trouble’ in South Boston when it was inhabited by the ‘Southies’, he didn’t stand much chance of leaving unscathed.
Of course, ‘they’ didn’t think much of anyone else there either....<:
And the the woman at a local restaurant stated that no one would stop in that neighborhood in this situation. It would have happened no matter who it was.
The brother of one of my black friends was beaten to death by his neighbors some years ago. Granted he shouldn’t have been dressing like a woman and offering to “service” the locals but it wouldn’t have made a bit of difference if he had been white. There are some things you don’t do in the hood no matter who you are.
Naïveté can be a wonderful thing - until it's not.
Justice for Whitey in Detroit has already been served.
I dont doubt that a bit! Chicago and Detroit should be Sister Cities
Detroit = Jungle
Twice a day, 5 - 7 days a week. There is a point of no return on my commute where I know for a fact my life would be in danger if my car ever failed me. What sucks is the fact I can’t carry becasue my company will not allow me to come on the property if I were. So, I’m pretty much screwed if I ever get into trouble while driving through injun country.
Forty years ago, in Washington, D.C., I was a volunteer in a Summer program for black kids—grade-school age. One afternoon we went to see a movie, in which a white cop mistakenly shoots a black teenager. Then a crowd assembles, and people start shouting at the cop, and getting violent. The kids in the theater were screaming “Kill him! Kill him!” Scary.
I suspect Detroit would be proud to have Monrovia, Liberia, as a Sister City. It is really hard to tell the difference any more.
Obeying company rules simply isn't worth getting permanently injured or murdered if you find yourself stuck in enemy territory.
From the article: “Mike Berry, 29, manager at the nearby Lucky 7 party store, said he heard the commotion outside Wednesday but didn’t see much because he was protecting his store.
People were running around, and he stood just inside the door for fear that people would try to loot his shelves, he said.”
I have pictures of their house when they first bought it, it was a brand new neighborhood that was mostly forrested at that time.
As you well know, all those houses in that area and yours weren't wooden structures, they were quality brick homes.....truly sad what happened to them.
I been called it a number if times since Obama became our dear leader, and it sent a chill up my spine, because I never ever entertained those thoughts and would have never imagined that they could play that card so well.
I’d say it’s unbelievable, but it isn’t. The stories of home invaders in Detroit getting their well-deserved dirt nap are as regular as grandpa on an all-prune diet.

It’s like the animals are running the place, and the police don’t even have the funding to keep the police stations open 24 hours. Some of them are 9-5.
Even the former gun grabbing Detroit Police chief has finally come around to the 2nd amendment.
I live in Novi, which is far enough from Detroit that it’s relatively safe, but if TSHTF, I’m going to hunker in the bunker with my folks in Kalamazoo. This city is nuts.
