President Barack Obama's home state of Hawaii's Obamacare exchange spent $35,749 per enrollee, a sum greater than the price of a new 2014 BMW 320i sedan (MSRP $32,750). "Just obscene amounts of money have disappeared into these state exchanges for very little actual performance," said American Commitment President Phil Kerpen. "You just have this huge duplication and waste in places like Hawaii and Oregon."
A CNBC analysis ranking taxpayer-funded federal expenditures on Obamacare found that Hawaii enrolled just 5,744 people through its Obamacare exchange at a cost to taxpayers of $205,342,270. The second-worst performer was the District of Columbia which spent $20,499.37 per enrollee. DC bagged $133,573,927 to sign up just 6,518 people.
CNBC says that the national average cost per enrollee is $6,894.05. However, the number of those counted as enrollees that have actually activated their coverage by paying their first month's premium is presently unclear...

It would have been a lot cheaper to just insure the uninsured. It’s a shame when straight forward Socialism is cheaper than what we’re doing now.
Money funneled to interests that may give back to the DNC at election time?
Obscene amounts of money have disappeared into these programs for very little actual performance
That’s the norm when government gets involved
That’s the overhead just for signup. That’s the overhead on the most mundane aspect of this “statute”.
I can't grasp how the people involved, could have allowed themselves to search for ways to frivolously dispose of such vast amounts of money.
The effort and work, and personal greed and corruption involved, to waste hundreds of millions of dollars by the individuals involved, must be epic, I wouldn't let those high ranking, highly paid, respectable, upper middle class, and upper income people, house sit for me, or trust them anywhere near my personal belongings.
As you’re doubtless aware any business that throws money around like that for no return...soon no longer qualifies as a business...
Well the LowInfo Voter get this news and will they care?
Awwww it’s Social Justice! Who cares the bill?!
The taxpayers of those states should be storming their legislature over this.
Maryland’s exchange has been so disastrous that it’s being investigated by the HHS Office of the Inspector General.
That honestly boggles my mind.
sosha just us!
One could BUY one HO LOTTA insuranance for that kinda money!! Health Insurance, Fire Insurance, Theft Insurance, Auto Insurance...and then some.
Few voters are dumb enough to miss this mess..IF they are made aware of it.
HAWAII OBAMACARE SPENT MORE PER ENROLLEE THAN A NEW BMW
Of course they did. All the Obama cronies sucking off of the ad campaigns wanted to buy a a Mercedes, not a BMW and everyone knows Mercedes cost more.
I told a co-worker that last year. All the money they spent on a useless website and all the TV and radio commercials could have provided coverage for all uninsured for a few years.
He didn’t believe me until his insurance went up. He was an Obamacare cheerleader but very silent these days. Me and my buddy needles him about it every chance we get.
the fallout...the HUGE fallout of ObamaDisasterCare,...doesnt seem to have been adequately “respected” as yet.
Money talks so much louder and More Clearly than barack hussein obama and all his buddies put together, and America IS Listening.!!
I want a countdown to Election Clock to post here on FR....
I wish I could have figured out a way to cash in.
I told my co-worker pretty soon the “evil rich” would be anyone who is employed regardless of pay.
you may not BE that far off by the time obie’s crew gets though with us
Hopefully the market will find a solution. Docs who will work for direct pay at reasonable rates like back in our parents days.
How the heck did they pay for our deliveries without insurance?
Before the huge increase in cost of.. insurance....yes Malpractice Insurance...Physicians yearly costs just to keep their practice Open were not nearly as staggering as they are today.
Today even Lawyers have malpractice insurance. I was once employed by a firm who were experts at legal malpractice law..
