My concerns would be like this.
1. How does a young boy know he's gay?
2. If he is having sex with other boys around his own age is that not still unlawful?
3. If he is having sex with a male over the age of 18 should that not be reported to the police? It is after all, a felony in all 50 states. And felony notwithstanding, wouldn't there be a minimum of concern that if he is having sex with a male over 18, that there could be a HUGE concern for his health, and that he should be tested regularly for HIV?
4. Suppose a parent were told by their son, that another boy admits that he is having sex with other boys. Does that parent REALLY want their son sharing a tent with the gay boy?
This is a question that I have asked BSA National...
Why is it permissible for a 17 yrs, 364 days old (youth) homosexual to be in a tent with a 10.5 year old Scout, yet it’s not acceptable for an 18 yrs, 1 day old (adult) heterosexual to share a tent with a 17 yrs, 364 days old Scout?
This is a question based on the Youth Protection guidelines the BSA has in place.
The reply from National, Regional, Council and District has been crickets.
