The world of Aronofsky’s Noah is a thoroughly Gnostic one: a graded universe of “higher” and “lower.” The “spiritual” is good, and way, way, way “up there” where the ineffable, unspeaking god dwells, and the “material” is bad, and way, way down here where our spirits are encased in material flesh. This is not only true of the fallen sons and daughters of Adam and Eve, but of fallen angels, who are explicitly depicted as being spirits trapped inside a material “body” of cooled molten lava.
Admittedly, they make pretty nifty movie characters, but they’re also notorious in Gnostic speculation. Gnostics call them Archons, lesser divine beings or angels who aid “The Creator” in forming the visible universe. And Kabbalah has a pantheon of angelic beings of its own all up and down the ladder of “divine being.” And fallen angels are never totally fallen in this brand of mysticism. To quote the Zohar again, a central Kabbalah text: “All things of which this world consists, the spirit as well as the body, will return to the principle and the root from which they came.” Funny. That’s exactly what happens to Aronofsky’s Lava Monsters. They redeem themselves, shed their outer material skin, and fly back to the heavens. Incidentally, I noticed that in the film, as the family is traveling through a desolate wasteland, Shem asks his father: “Is this a Zohar mine?” Yep. That’s the name of Kabbalah’s sacred text.
Okay. That’s weird. But, hey, everybody in the film seems to worship “The Creator,” right? Surely it’s got that in its favor!
Except that when Gnostics speak about “The Creator” they are not talking about God. Oh, here in an affluent world living off the fruits of Christendom the term “Creator” generally denotes the true and living God. But here’s a little “Gnosticism 101” for you: the Creator of the material world is an ignorant, arrogant, jealous, exclusive, violent, low-level, bastard son of a low level deity. He’s responsible for creating the “unspiritual” world of flesh and matter, and he himself is so ignorant of the spiritual world he fancies himself the “only God” and demands absolute obedience. They generally call him “Yahweh.” Or other names, too (Ialdabaoth, for example).
This Creator tries to keep Adam and Eve from the true knowledge of the divine and, when they disobey, flies into a rage and boots them from the garden.
In other words, in case you’re losing the plot here: The serpent was right all along. This “god,” “The Creator,” whom they are worshiping is withholding something from them that the serpent will provide: divinity itself.
This director is "TAKING YOU FOR SUCKERS!" ... and laughing all the way to the bank about it!
the only similarities to the Biblical story of Noah and the movie Noah, is that the name of the major character is “Noah,” he built a boat and there was a flood, because the sewers backed up. Whoops, “sewers backing up” is Bill Cosby’s old/ancient comedy routine.
What people need to realize is the studio and the director made a liberal, leftist, ‘green’, global warming and enviro-whacko PROPAGANDA HIT PIECE against the foundations of Christianity and the Bible — and instead, sneaking in their enviro-whacko IDEOLOGY as the basis of the movie!

People here fight against the liberal, leftist, ‘green’ and enviro-whacko IDEOLOGY that they try to push on us all the time. In this case, it’s embedded into the story-line - where “man” is the problem, “save the animals”, “stop destroying the earth” - and a built-in hatred of mankind as opposed to the “environment”.
NOW ... If you think this is acceptable IDEOLOGY to push on the masses, then you obviously approve of people spending their money to FUND THIS LEFTIST IDEOLOGY in the movie and PROPAGANDIZE the audience, in the process to “move them” over to the Leftists viewpoint.

PLEASE NOTE HERE ... even if one doesn’t take the religions of Judaism and Christianity for themselves - it’s VERY KEY to understand that the basis and philosophy for “the West” comes out of it.
OTHERWISE ...what you’re going to get is the philosophy and RELIGION of “Environmentalism” and that “man is bad”, the earth is good and animals rate as high, if not higher than mankind, THAT is the NEW RELIGION!!

Neither have I, so I don’t have much of an opinion.
But I’ll sure not trash something I have not seen.

If it were just ‘a movie,’ they would have called it something else. And they would have made it about a topic other than the flood of the OT. But they didn’t. So the leftist spin must have some ulterior motive either than just making a movie or completely misrepresenting the tale as told in the Bible.
That’s how propaganda works.
I’ve quoted the ones who have, used their articles and have given all the links for them. This has been very well documented from those who have seen it. I’m an “aggregator” of thes articles, so that people can see them all in one place.
And note here ... there is a really ridiculous and false idea that is circulated here. The ridiculous idea is that you cannot “know anything authoritatively” about a subject UNLESS you have personally engaged in it or have taken part in it some way or were part of it in some way.
SO ... if there is a movie out there - you CANNOT MAKE A JUDGMENT about whether to see it or not, until you see it ... LOL ...
Therefore, you cannot make any judgement about homosexuals, either, until you “do it yourself” and experience it yourself. ONLY THEN, do you have a right to an opinion about homosexuals.
AND ... being a drug addict ... forget about making any judgement about them, until you’ve been one yourself. Please withhold all your opinions until then!
OH ... and “OBAMACARE” ... don’t even bother having any judgement or opinion about that UNTIL you’ve signed up yourself and you’ve tried it out. We want NO OPINION from you about Obamacare UNTIL you have fully experienced it yourself. Your opinion is NOT VALID until then.
Well ... sorry ... but I have ABSOLUTELY NO INTENTION of experiencing all these evil things myself - before I can make a judgment on them!
Well, maybe, maybe not. I know I haven’t watched the last couple of movies in the “gladiator vein” ... :-) ... It was just a lack of interest more than anything else.
I like some science fiction, though - Star Wars or Star Trek. I liked “The Mission”, Blade Runner, Cool Hand Luke, Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, and a bunch of others ... :-) ...
