Your scenario is scientifically incoherent. Glyphosate is an herbicide, not a pesticide. So all those things you are worried about won’t happen since they are already unaffected by glyphosate.

Human pythiosis has already occurred in Thailand, Ebola is all over West Africa..those are disease generated by nature.
Your willingness to dick around with nature and have faith in those “Scientists” (find me an honest one..please) who play around with genes, bT and glyphosate in the foods that human beings ingest do’t know “Jack”about how those “advances will replicate inside the human body. 90 day studies..really?
Do you work for the Government or are you Michael Taylor?!!

LOL

pests like ticks becoming immune to glyphosate

Wow! Do you have a link showing ticks were ever killed by glyphosate?

bubonic plaque passed to humans from rats that have eaten glyphosate crops say and then been exposed to glyphosate pesticide say..

Pesticide? That explains why your ignorance is so widespread.

Nah…nothing to do with genetic transfer…Nah

You're funny.

Thanks for replying. I’d like to know if there’s any truth in what I’ve read about the largest operators keeping their animals in filth, cages stacked, feces not cleaned out, animals diseased from living in those conditions, and fed antibiotics to counteract those conditions. In your experience, is there any truth to those claims? Thanks again.

Your debate would have been even better with some hard data/references. To a point, I agree with both of you.

I know but I am a posting tard!

Plenty of ammo but I am of the age that grew up in the 70’s and missed the computer age by 2 years.
No. I do not care to learn at this point.

Glyphosate is an herbicide whose genes are selected to be inserted into crops such as cotton/soy/sweet corn.

Farmer must sign an agreement to use Round up ready herbicide with their round up gene inserted crops..it is a perpetual cycle.

Monsanto developed these technologies and because they are so in bed with the feds, they gained a monopoly on seed and the herbicide of their own.. Round up Ready that you must treat the growing crops with wait for it.. Round up Ready!
The Farmer cannot save seed from season to season and is under contract to continue the circle jerk.
Ever wonder why your cotton sheets fall apart after a year?
That 20.00$ shirt you bought at Target has holes in it after three washes?

That is just cotton.

95% of Soy in the US is GMO…aka glyphosate resistant seed that you are contractually obligated to use round up ready herbicide on when it starts to “bolt” in the field? It becomes “resistant”..the soy Where does the “bolt” go next year? Perhaps to the next field?
Can we prove it does not? No we cannot.

GMO trials were done for 90 days max, they have now been in our food since the early 90’s.
Do you see many healthy people in this country?
I do not.
Coinkydink? I think not.
Make your own food choices.
I do.

Farmers haven't saved corn for seed for nearly 60 years, and for good reason.

In a word, no, there is no truth to those claims.

What follows is from a post I made a month or two ago, it may cover some other things. Let me know if you want more information, I’ve had a long interest in animal production.

As someone who has raised a quarter millions hogs, birth to market, I can assure you that no producer can exist if they don’t provide a clean, and healthy environment for their livestock.

Animal feeds are targeted to the specific animals being fed, taking into account their sex, age, weight, and dozens of other factors. The feed formula changes often, sometimes weekly, so that the very optimum feed is fed to the animals. Everything that group of animals need is taken into account, vitamins, minerals, you name it, it’s analyzed, adjusted, and changed as conditions change.

Water is a key element for all producers, and water quality is analyzed and included as a key feed component. Backup wells and pressure systems are incorporated into every step of the building and production plan. Backup electrical generators provide electrical power for the pumps in the event of power failure, which are often top of the line variable speed drives, rivaling the sophistication of those used by municipal water systems. The backup systems insure that the animal have a continuous supply a fresh water.

In the pen or cage, the water delivery equipment used is manufactured from stainless steel and plastics to reduce the buildup of contaminants, and is scientifically placed so that all animals have easy access to what is the cheapest food ingredient, water.

I would assert that animals raised by the American farmer dine and drink a more scientifically balanced meal than 95% of Americans, and probably 99% of the world.

Air supply and airflow are engineered into the building even before the construction begins, and those engineering standards are derived from decades of research performed by universities.

The amount of room each animal has is also determined by decades of research, and I addressed some of that up thread.

To sum things up, you can relax a bit about the animal cruelty theme often touted by the Food Luddites who want us to produce our food the way we did a hundred years ago. Those environments were dirtier, the animals less cared for, and not as healthy as those produced in todays production facilities.

If all those terrible things were still practiced, the producer, if he was still in business, will unmercifully be driven out of business by the most terrible and unforgiving master one can have in business, economics.

Monsanto has the first contract that I’m aware of to protect their intellectual property invested in the seed.

In the 60 years prior, farmers like my father and myself always bought seed corn, as the commercial seed out produced homegrown seed by as much as a factor of 5 or 10. The factors were, and still are, higher for the better producing single cross hybrids.

I know it won’t dissuade you, but your ignorance on something so simple as the above indicates you should stick to posting on things you know something about.

I was rough.

Perhaps unwittingly, you have fallen in with a very bad crowd. In some of his writings, Steve Forbes calls them the Food Luddites.

They have but one goal and it is this; Here in the country with a government designed to be the greatest experiment of all time, they have set out to destroy one of the amazing results of that experiment, the greatest food producing machine ever devised by man.

Many Freepers have become part of this crowd of saboteurs, and for them I hold no quarter.
