en. Rand Paul on Tuesday argued that the Republican Party needs to get beyond deportation in order to break through to Hispanic voters. The Kentucky Republican and likely 2016 contender argued that before the GOP can make its case to the Latino community, which voted overwhelmingly for Democrats in 2012, the party needs to make clear it is open to a more welcoming approach to immigration.

The Clintons may have learned their lessons, but so-called conservatives have not, and likely never will learn anything except how to make ever grander excuses while beating their collective chests, shouting their true conservative values - which will look like so much hand wringing to every one else.
You have that 180 degrees backwards my FRiend.
It's the GOP-E that hasn't learned a Damn thing.
NO more Progressive Liberals masquerading as Republicans like Mitt Romney.
No more Open-border Amnesty Freaks masquerading as Republicans.
No more politicians poking conservatives in the eye and telling us we have to put the Social Issues on the back-burner.
Either represent our conservative values or you, and the GOP-E, can go pound sand!

Well I hope they learn better about how to handle primaries than in 2008 or 2012. The zealots killed one another and then a milquetoast stepped up, who proceeded to lose.

Hey! Thanks! I always wanted to pound sand, since I was a little kid!
I voted in the last election, did you?
Many FRers did not, you know - the reasons I stated, are the reasons they gave.
Sounds like, if the GOP doesn’t come up with a canidate you support, you will sit home ... true, false?

He was always weak on immigration. But this type of comment really sucks. No one is talking deportation. No one. So the comment that the GOP must move beyond deportation is ignorant, a calculated smear or simply stupid.
Although I'm a confessing libertarian, this is why I like Ted Cruz. I don't see him attacking supporters.

Could he mean that the immigration policy must be more than just deportations? That we need to find a way to keep this situation from recurring? If so, he may have a point.
