Republican pundit Charles Krauthammer said that when Republican New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie embraced President Barack Obama after Hurricane Sandy a week before the 2012 presidential election, he was essentially giving Obama a lap dance.
“I think many Republicans are extremely upset with what was described in the press as giving Obama a bear hug,” Krauthammer said on Sunday in a debate with Obama strategist David Plouffe, according to Politico. “I saw it slightly differently, I thought it was more of like a lap dance. Not a phrase I would use on television, since the image is too disturbing.”

Christie knew Obama was all talk and wouldn’t deliver on his promises to the citizens of New Jersey. He lap danced Obama purely to advance his own political fortunes, stabbing Romney in the back in the process. He’s dead to me. Period.

The only thing I ever liked about Christie was his willingness to fight back when attacked by the left in a very effective way.
But his stand on most issues is not nearly conservative enough for me, and his lap dance for Obama after Sandy was the final nail in the coffin.
Of course there were plenty of stories floating around that Christy didn't care for Romney to begin with.
Additionally, my theory was that Christy tentatively planned on making his move for the presidency in 2016 and didn't want to face a sitting republican president for the nomination.
