“Type 2 on drugs can have ups and down in blood glucose just like type 1. You always carry food”

ok, you’re right, if he was on glipized, which stimulates the pancreas he could experience a low. but, lets look at this logically.
first, he needs to be on insulin or the aforementioned glipized to be concerned about a low. if he is one of the millions not on one of those, he can sit in a theater like anyone else.
second, ok, so if he is on a blood sugar lowering drug, strawberries are not what you would use to bring it up.
third, unless you are in an active low, a diabetic can go 2 a hours without eating or “keeping his blood sugar level”.

really, this story makes very little sense.

Not only can you safely eat strawberries if you have diabetes, but in fact you are encouraged to do so. Strawberries and other fruits have numerous health benefits and are a healthful part of the diabetic diet. In addition, a growing body of research suggests that strawberries have an ingredient that is helpful in treating type 2 diabetes.

Have been on a glipizide and it is no fun and have learned the hard way to always carry food regardless when you last ate. How long you can go without food can be highly variable.

I agree, you would die waiting for strawberries to bring up your glucose. Strawberries do not pass the smell test.
