Glad you didn't think it was too much.
Those five years that my husband and I lived/worked over there were an adventure of a lifetime.
While we were there we visited India, China, Kenya, Egypt (twice) and a raft of places in the middle/near east. We went everywhere EXCEPT Israel. We didn't want to risk Saudi authorities nixing our entry visa with an Israeli stamp on it.
As we found out later, the Saudis couldn't have cared less about an Israelis stamp.

I was in the commissary one day and I saw a box of lettuce and the box was marked PRODUCT OF ISRAEL. All of our FLOWERS also came from Israel. The blue Star of David is PRETTY abnormal to see in the KSA. It IS distinctive and HARD to miss.

Oops, there I go rambling again. BAD girl!!

This must be years ago because when I was there a few years ago a restaurant manager received some coffee cups with Hebrew writing and that was front page news. They almost fired the poor guy. he was a foreigner and had no idea it was Hebrew.

I also witnessed the boycott of Danish products because of the cartoons drawn about Mohammed in a Danish newspaper. All the supermarket shelves were cleaned out of Danish products in one day.

They do care about the Israeli passports stamps as you will not get into Saudi Arabia with one in your passport.
