SCLC is insidious. It can be beaten, but every 5-year survivor I've come across has supplemented with nutrition. The thing with SCLC is it only accounts for 20% of the cases of lung cancer and seems to receive less research and attention. Medical professionals have a standard first- and second- line of treatment (first is CAV I believe).
The individual cells seem to respond better than other histologic types (like SCC and ADC) to chemotherapy and, by extension, to nutritional input.
We do the nutrition thing too. Juicing every day is almost fun now! He misses the red meat and protein but loves living better!
He is having a PET scan right now......possible needle biopsy next week. The tiny, little cancer seems to have changed or something.
