The casinos in Tunica never recovered from the floods in 2011. Folks started going to the casinos in Arkansas and never came back.

There are only three small casinos in Ark. One at Southland Park in West Memphis (greyhound racing) near Tunica. One at Oaklawn in Hot Springs (horse racing)and a “Cherokee” casino way up in the NW in Eureka Springs (Passion Play).

The overall economy is a big part of it, but I do believe you are right about the floods in 2011. I’ve never been to the dog track since they put in casinos (which are not full casinos), but I hear a lot of folks (minority) I work with talk about it.

Horseshoe casinos . Debt is high and profit
None.
