Conservative-leaning newspaper the Washington Times announced on Thursday that it will be launching a magazine specifically targeting black conservatives, FishbowlDC reports.
The new magazine, called the American CurrentSee, will bring together big names in the black conservative world, including former neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who will be publisher;

I may be mistaking its name.
I read it enthusiastically since it was so refreshing to hear uplifting, positive stories about how to make it in America.
None of the chip on your shoulder, whitey keeping you down crap.
Just common sense.
But of course there is almost no market for a magazine that tells black-Americans how successful they can be if they just stop wallowing in self pity and start improving themselves.
Ala Bill Cosby.
Cosby tells the truth to black audiences and they rip him to shreds.
And Cosby is a LIBERAL.
Really? I guess race trumps again. This whole Liberal-Conservative dynamic is BS.
Amen!
I think they are missing a bet here by not at some point having a printed insert of the magazine into their newspaper. It would almost be guaranteed to be a sold out issue, as a lot of people who typically didn’t read the Times would buy a newspaper so they could get the insert.
And sure we can be so purist and not advertise to ethnic groups while the Democrats eat our lunch and slam dunk the empty bag in the trash.
What are we serving, our prides?
Who’s “discriminating”? Any white person who wants to buy it may.
So opposing dem style race politics is now purist pride? Really?
Tell me what part of conservatism states ‘cater to X’ for votes. Tell me why we need to become Democrat race baiters using techniques of race baiting and race politics to oppose Dem race baiting politics.
Tell me what part of conservatism needs selling in a special interest ‘colored’ wrapper and cannot stand on it’s own to any minority that cares enough to look at it unbiasedly.
Now if you want the kind of people in the right that support that insanity, well, I think I see the problem.
Yes, really.
Go bitch about missionaries — they do the same thing.
Don’t be an idiot.
You have a habit of just ignoring or redirecting around uncomfortable facts. I expect no less from our prior encounters.
When missionaries start running the country, setting it’s direction or even trying to, your strawman will have merit. Until then...not at all.
Catering to any race based groups is BY DEFINITION racial politics. Conservatives oppose racial politics. You apparently do not. People can infer from that what they will.
We agree on that. The solution will take time. We’re winning.
You more noble than missionaries?
I expect no higher from YOU, until YOU repent.
When a better man than you calls on me to consider repentance, I’ll get on it. BTW, considering you don’t know me from Adam, it’s pretty ‘plank in your eye’ to assume if I am or not.
And BTW, noble has nothing to do with you redirecting away from your approval of racial politics. See your direct reply to my post above.
If anyone needs repenting, thy may offer you their place in line. You seem to need some of your own.
God bless em. All 10 of them.
You once more make broad brush strokes that are utterly unjustified.
Are you going to be so noble that you will not address specific audiences? Then you are going to be noble to hell.
And since it’s biblical, which has no plank in its eye at all, you are being a grand hypocrite!!
There is a difference between addressing a specific audience and making a ‘black’ publication.
Reagan spoke to all Americans. Why do we need to speak to ‘black’ Americans? Or Blind Americans? Or Sheep loving Americans? What is your problem with just considering people Americans and addressing them as such?
Who has the pride problem? Reagan?
Oh?
I’d make an American Indian publication if it encouraged American Indians to be more conservative.
The END goal is uniting, but it has to be pursued by addressing known separate groups in a custom manner. It is the manner of missions and it works.
And your mocking about how missions don’t run the country? Maybe they should! They’d be 10x wiser.
The stupid. It burns. you want to UNITE people by a SEPARATE publication for individual groups and say it’s a good thing.
I’ll drop it here. There is no sense in arguing with someone so divorced from sense.
5.56mm
Yes, the stupid from you it burns, and it is best leaving you to your folly.
I’m with you two.
“Black” this and “black” that are just color-codings for accelerants of national meltdown: socialism, separatism, reparations politics, revenge, mayhem and rejection of and hatred for civil society in general.
There are already enough color schemes out there. None of them will end well.
