KIEV, March 27. /ITAR-TASS/. A warning came to the European Union that transit of Russian natural gas to the EU via Ukrainian territory may stop.
This warning is made in a letter Yuriy Prodan, appointed by the Supreme Rada as minister of energy and coal industry of Ukraine, addressed to EU Energy Commissioner Guenter Oettinger, the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry reports.

Ukraine is now threatening to stop the flow of natural gas from Russia to Europe.
IMO, this is about getting military forces and help from Europe. Europe has to have that gas.

Such a tangled web we weave.
TASS would not be the most reliable source for this story, it maybe a Russian red herring. If true this will be on AP soon. It would also be a breaking story on the German press wires or Der Spiegel.
I think Putin will put a sudden stop to any sudden gas stoppages. He’s not massing the troops for nothing.
Not to worry, the Saudi group will step in to save 'em, they're generous that way.
100,000 troops from what I heard.
Either way, it was still very wise for Angela Merkel to shut down their nuclear energy producing capability and coal fired plant capability as well. Smart move.
She was on the money when she said Putin was out of touch with reality.
Ukraine showing their actual colors? In that case I’ll pull for putin.
Gee, if we only knew someone who could build a Keystone pipeline and supply their energy needs. /sarc
Yes, sometimes it is the story in our eyes ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ud7TsATY5eo .. Prayer for a Not ... but here goes.
Yup, he’s the underdog in this whole mess.
This may wind up being an economic war, more than a shooting one.
I think Putin will put a sudden stop to any sudden gas stoppages. Hes not massing the troops for nothing.I agree. In fact, I think that's the excuse he's waiting for. I'm not sure the threat will be enough, but if Ukraine actually stop the flow of gas, I think the Russians will move in.
Well then say goodbye to Ukraine. It's will be West Russia now.
In any event, for our children’s children’s children ... Here we go.
The article is short on details (although the authors no doubt have the underlying letter in their possession). I would suggest that the reason the passive voice is used in the article is because there is no threat by Ukraine to shut off the gas, but rather a statement of fact: if Ukraine is invaded by Russia, that could tend to put the pipelines in harm’s way.
Whatever floats your boat . . . .
Once upon a time ... I remembered a Question of Balance. Of course that was obama’s and his minions first order of destruction. Okay, lame-stream media are you and your children safer yet?
