Imagine hearing this story from your 5-year-old when you ask her how her day was in kindergarten.
Kudos to these parents for staying calm and teaching this little girl that she can pray absolutely anywhere she wants.

More than enough! Our only hope is civil war or refuse to pay taxes! Each one has its merits.

Thought they were one and the same.....
That’s a good one. The next day, she can say she is praying she survives the lunch.

What a sweet little girl. I love how she gets grumpy frowny sour adult face for lunch person saying “It’s not good!” and brightens up at 1:05 when she says, “I said, ‘It IS good!’”
How many other children are knuckled under by such heavy-handed govt goon tactics...
Yet another reason to homeschool.
Absolutely.
This lunch lady never told her kids not to pray before meals. Matter of fact, we did it before every meal in school.
:)
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
“Worldly weapons wont win. It is to cringe when people start out saying our only hope is and God is not squarely at the end of the sentence.”
Theologically, you stand on thin ice.
Remember “Render unto Caesar that which is Caesars”?
Once given free will and the uniquely American combination of the soap box, ballot box and cartridge box, to ask the Almighty to solve problems of our own making is presumptuous to say the least.
The “Lunch Lady”, an even more overstuffed version of the DMV Lady.
Yes, the Almighty DOES solve “problems of our own making.”
If He did not then the Savior is in fact going under a false label.
And...This is followed with, “They caught me again.”
Wow! So sad.
Drudge has story featured now (third column):
Nice that Pittsburgh has the story — I’ve not seen it in Fl papers
KDKA. So glad this story is getting around.
Joe, more identifying info out so now finally we know this happened in Oviedo.
9 hrs ago in local paper, Oviedo, Seminole County: http://m.local10.com/news/5yearold-seminole-county-student-says-teacher-told-her-not-to-pray/25267594
5 hrs ago neighboring Orlando: http://touch.orlandosentinel.com/#section/-1/article/p2p-79789370/
Fwiw, Zimmerman also = Seminole Cty.
Do lunch ladies have the authority to nullify the first amendment ?
Would the teacher have said that if the student were a Muslim?
But if she were a Muslim, it wouldn’t be an issue at all.
