Netflix streaming was a life-changing event for me. Well maybe I exaggerate. But now I can plug headphones into my MacBook Pro and watch Breaking Bad or House of Cards on the living room couch - commercial free - while the wife watches her "Lifetime Channel" crap on the TV.

Traditional television should fear for the future because I'm never going back to that horrible model. Streaming on demand is revolutionary. Even though not all shows and movies are available, there's more than enough of it already to occupy me for a lifetime.

I have family in the advertising business.

They are very, very, worried about the future. To the point they are lobbying hard to have commercials required by law to be in all media.
