Pure speculation that it was the “distraught” pilot who killed all those people. Just remember that the Malaysians have been very cagey. If there was negligence or a security lapse, the Chinese will be bringing immense pressure and the government may fall. Many corrupt insiders will see their illicit revenue streams evaporate. They may also face prison. Far better to blame the senior pilot who was a supporter of the political opposition.
Exactly right. If it was indeed a terrorist attack that brought down the plane would you want to be the Malaysian government facing Chinese officials to tell them that? A fall guy is a better option for now as long as they can’t find the plane. Is it me or does it seem that the Malaysians are in no hurry to find that plane and its black box?
The Chinese government will merely appear to be doing a lot to get to the bottom of it, and leave Malaysia alone for the most part.
IMO some overzealous Chinese air force pilot shot it down because it was not following China’s new illegal “rules” in its illegal interdiction zone; when he got back to base the missing missile or missiles would have been noticed, even if he hadn’t at first reported, two and two put together, he was then executed, and his family was told that he was lost and presumed dead on a routine mission.
The two systems that went offline? One went off when the plane was destroyed, the other one went off when it finally sank in the ocean.

Far better than admitting that the Malaysian Air Force shot it down because it had no transponder.
