Palin’s not “jumping the shark” whatever that means. She’s hunting them, killing them, skinning them (for an Al Sharpton suit), and then eating them, sending the fins to Japan for soup.
All of that is beyond most at CNN except, perhaps, the writer.

Origin of this phrase comes from a Happy Days episode where the Fonz jumped a shark on waterskis. Thus was labeled the lowest point of the show.
