Americans tend not to like working at manufacturing jobs.
Its repetitious and boring, and we don’t do it well.
Even in China they hate it, but they have no choice if they wish to eat.

“Americans tend not to like working at manufacturing jobs.”

Visit Lincolnton, NC, Galax, VA or Bennettsville, SC or any of many southern towns where factories have gone away. Ask the unemployed if the factories returned would they go back to work for $10 to $12 per hour. I think you’d find most would. We aren’t talking $40 per hour union jobs or even $20 per hour union jobs in these places. I know a small factory in one of those towns, still struggling to hang on, where $10.00 per hour jobs can easily be filled when the rare vacancy occurs and usually with one of the 10-15 people who walk in the door and fill out an application every day.

There are still places in America where people take pride in having a job, any job, and supporting their families if they can find any job.

Another 10 years of the status quo and that pride, as well as the work ethic, will be gone. These people will become permanent wards of the welfare state and will vote accordingly. If the Republican businessmen and politicians who insisted free trade would bring prosperity don’t have an answer for replacing the jobs lost overseas, the Democrats will welcome them with open arms to the liberal plantation. The South will once again vote solidly Democrat.
