I was called a Kike growing up...In Michigan
in my neighborhood....kids were said to be either kikes or greasers
a not particulary bright bunch of kids thought that one up...

When I was a child in the 1950s I lived near a gated NJ community about 25 miles from New York City. It was built on a hill called Kikeout Mt. (some pronounced it Kakout Mt. My father told me that before WWII it had been the site of a German-American Bund camp. I believe that Bund camps were Nazi meeting camps, but perhaps someone here knows more.
Yup, I’m from the days when racial terms weren’t always meant to be derogatory or hateful. Obviously this case is different but it sure would be nice to see the racial offense industry collapse.
