A possible Ebola case has been detected in Canada after a passenger returned from Africa where dozens have died from the virus.
"All we know at this point is that we have a person who is critically ill who travelled from a country where these diseases occur," Denise Werker, joint director of health in Saskatchewan province in western Canada, said.
She said the casualty had been in Liberia and had developed the symptoms after landing in Canada.
He or she would not have been contagious when travelling and was now in isolation pending test results.

You’re Welcome, Alamo-Girl!
It could have been something equally salacious like building a church, a school or a medical clinic.
So, what was this person doing, in Africa? Handling animals? Gay sex? Gay sex with corpses? Yikes!
Are you serious?
Is this what you believe of people who travel to Africa?
Thanks for the ping Joe - this could be a bad one...
Great book, all the scarier for NOT being fiction! Lousy, completely fictional movie. The hero commanded the USAMRIID investigation at Ft. Detrick. The hero was succeeded in his position by a former next door neighbor. I'm confident my old neighbor would have done as well, but am dang glad he didn't have to.
" The incubation period of ebola hemorrhagic fever can last from two to twenty-one days and the symptoms begin very rapidly. Typical conditions start with fever, headache, joint and muscle aches, sore throat and weakness which are later joined by diarrhea, vomiting and stomach pain. In some cases a patient can also experience a rash, red eyes and/or internal and external bleeding. Unfortunately, there is currently no real treatment and when doctors do figure out that you have ebola, which may take a few days since the initial symptoms are applicable to many, more common illnesses, all the doctors can do is what's called "supportive therapy." Through this procedure, doctors keep your fluids and electrolytes in check, maintain your oxygen level and blood pressure and treat you for any futher complicating infections. Researchers are working hard to create better ways to diagnose ebola in the early stages of the disease and a cure for ebola may still be several years away, but something that continues to puzzle doctors is the fact that some patients are somehow able to survive the disease, whereas others cannot."

Ironically the author makes the following statement:
" Luckily, as Canadians, the threat of the ebola disease is currently not very significant to us..."
Suspected my ass. Confirm it or don’t spread disinformation.
In Africa, it already is (well, bad enough, anyway). Hopefully the Canadians have the matter well in hand. They didn’t mess around with SARS much.
Expect government officials to tell you bald-faced lies just to prevent a panic. Hell, expect them to tell you reassuring fairy tales ESPECIALLY when they dont have the first clue what the hell is going on.
Ok, I’ll be the first one to bring it up...
You don’t suppose that MH370 ,,,,
It’s the only cockamami theory that HAS NOT been
put forth about that missing plane!
No, not serious. People make all kind of jokes about my hometown (SF) with wild abandon (lots of good family people live in SF), but I can't display an ounce of humor about Africa? So hopefully I won't be hearing any more sick jokes about SF and those who visit here. (Yes, conservatives still exist here.)
They don't. It's the standard lie they tell so there won't be panic.
I vaguely remember that after that problem in Reston, they incinerated the inside of the building, as a fast and thorough means of decontamination. Such incineration isn’t easy, basically two men in bio suits, one of whom has a flamethrower.
A funeral.
