As part of the “deal” Temple made with Philadelphia, they actually have slum within the campus. The area between the main school buildings and the train station and parking lots is a housing project. Not sure what they were thinking.
There are two entrances to the train station, one is guarded, the other is not. If you use the wrong one at the wrong time of day, good luck.
They should have moved out of the city when they had the chance.
Let we not forget the great “Water Buffalo” incident @ University of Pennsylvania, on the west side of the river.
