Seriously? It took them 10 days to analyse the INMARSAT data? I had heard on CNN that the data was sent from INMARSAT to Malaysia to the US on Mar 12 analysed for 2 days, returned to Malaysia and resent to the US for further analyzing.

These people sux. I get the need to be thorough, but really? Took INMARSAT 4 days to retrieve satellite data?

Prayers for the families.

The indication was that it was a new way of analysis. I would imagine that they initially did a standard analysis and that gave the two arcs - the north and south locations.

Then, I would imagine, they “went back” to the data to find “new ways” of analyzing the data. Thus — the results today.
