I remember similar scares over:

• Overpopulation would result in the starvation of millions by 2000.
• Jacques Cousteau said the oceans will be completely dead by 2000.
• Acid rain will leave the mountains in the northeast will be tree free by 2000.
• There would be no room left to dispose of trash by 2000.
• Nuclear power will kill us all.
• I'm sure I missed a few.

It's a wonder that anyone gives the envirowhackos any credibility.
