MOSCOW, March 19. /ITAR-TASS/. The Communist Party of Russia suggests renaming one of the streets or squares in the Russian capital to celebrate the reunification of Crimea with Russia.
Andrei Klychkov, the leader of the Communist Party faction in the Moscow State Duma, said on Wednesday that the party was going to submit its proposal to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin soon. They believe that Europe Square in front of the Kievsky railway station could be a perfect place to perpetuate the historical event.
Klychkov said several new names for the square had been suggested.
The list of names includes Square of Reunification of Crimea and Russia or Krymskaya (Crimean) Square, given that Moscow already has the Krymskaya embankment and the Krymsky Val street. The Square could also be renamed into Square of Friendship, Klychkov went on to say, adding that the letter to Sobyanin had been signed by all faction members at the Moscow City Duma, except for the party leader Gennady Zyuganov who was going to put his signature on Wednesday.
We are going to send this document to the mayor of Moscow today, Deputy Klychkov said.
Criussia Square?
Are they going to rename the Don, “Crimea River”?
They can place all of the Lenin statues the Ukrainians tore down there.
They should whoop it up; they’re reclaiming their Soviet heritage.
Many fascists are wanting to call Moscow the capital of the world rather than disturb the debt regime or trade between countries.
Fascists, Marxists, Communists, and other ‘ists’....we can’t fix stupid.
True, and well said.
Above all, we should acknowledge that the collapse of the Soviet Union was a major geopolitical disaster of the Century. As for the Russian nation, it became a genuine drama. Tens of millions of our co-citizens and compatriots found themselves outside Russian territory. Moreover, the epidemic of disintegration infected Russia itself (Vladimir Putin, Annual Address to the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, April 25, 2005).
