Exactly. The nascent threat posed by China is greater than that of Iran and Russia combined. I am always surprised by how people only concentrate at the immediate and are oblivious about greater threats sitting around the next bend. China has an economy that is over 4 times the size of Russia's, has the most aggressive militarization program in the world, and has ambitions that bring it into direct conflict with the US (and not just at the regional level). Yet Iran is being considered as the greatest threat! Astounding.
In my book I don't even consider Iran to be in the top 5! I'd say China, followed by Pakistan (now, that is an 'interesting' country), followed by Russia, followed by Saudi Arabia (financing of Salafist/Wahhabist ideologies around the globe), and at fifth place North Korea (too many variables there). At sixth I may include Iran.
