From leebrightforsenate.com Another Devastating Poll for Establishment Incumbent

There was more bad news for wealthy establishment incumbent Lindsey Graham today, as a recent Winthrop College poll of likely Republican voters has Graham’s re-elect numbers in the upcoming primary at only 45%. Incumbents, especially long timers, are in deep trouble anytime their numbers drop below 50. Moreover, in South Carolina, Graham must receive over 50% of the vote in the June 10th Primary to avoid a run-off against the top challenger. A run-off looks very likely now.

“We’ve believed since entering the race that a run-off was inevitable,” said Lee Bright, the upstate Senator who has emerged as the top challenger to Graham according to all of the polls. “The conventional wisdom in Washington might not have agreed with us, but we’ve been confident since day one. Lindsey Graham’s polling has consistently declined and is now well below 50 percent. That decline is based on his performance over the last 18 years, and there’s nothing he can do in the next few months to put lipstick on that pig of a record.”

Communications Director Edmund Wright added, “There are two races going on here. One is Lindsey versus fifty, and he’s going to lose that one. The other is the challenger primary, and Lee Bright is ahead in that one. We are two for two, and are more confident than ever that we are retiring Graham this year.”

Bright will be announcing yet another major endorsement soon.
