It’s even worse than that now. Al-Qaeda posted a video online of themselves shooting at Syrian positions during the battle. It has now been shown from satellite imagery that where they were shooting from in the video is clearly and unambiguously on the Turkish side of the border right next to the Turkish border post. No one can deny Turkish government cooperation with al-Qaeda now. Civilians on the Turkish side of the border there, who are mostly Shiites and not sympathetic to the Muslim Bros. who run Turkey, are tweeting that casualty evacuation points were set up before the attack by the Turkish gov’t and that wounded al-Qaeda terrorists are being treated by Turkish authorities.
Turkey’s PM is caught up in big corruption scandal and the opposition has been warning for the last week that he might try to provoke more conflict with Syria as a distraction.
Turkey shot down a Syrian plane today and then Syria shelled Turkey. If this blows up into a major conflict, everyone needs to know what precipitated it, because we are not going to get the straight truth from “our” media.
