Famous buildings and monuments around the world will be plunged into darkness on March 29 to honour the global environmental initiative Earth Hour.
In North America, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, the Empire State Building in New York and the Space Needle in Seattle are just some of the legendary sites which will be dimming their lights for the event. Earth Hour USA has launched a social media campaign to encourage buildings such as Navy Pier in Chicago and the Alamo Shrine in Texas to take part. On the Canadian border, even Niagara Falls will see its power cut out, along with the CN Tower.
In the U.K., swathes of London will go dark, with Wembley Stadium, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace and the London Eye just some of the many buildings involved in the initiative. Elsewhere in the U.K., Brighton Pier, Edinburgh Castle and the Scottish Parliament will also be switching off.

More feel good symbolism from the goofyass commies.
I will be ablaze, as always!
Coincidentally, that’s the same time I’m lighting all my backyard tiki torches.
I used the rendered fat of spotted owls for fuel.
I turn everything I can off, at least an hour earlier. Then I turn everything I can on, as soon as the hour begins. That’s a double whammy, for messing with their bogus statistics on “savings”.
Every light in the house will be on.
I, as the old Motel 6 ad proclaimed, “will leave the lights on for ya!”
LOL! I’m collecting styrofoam for a bonfire. ;-)
Let there be light!!
These are people of the darkness.
I am glad it is a weekend at least. Most will not have to walk along now dark areas to get home from work. I wonder how much it saves on electricity. I am stunned how many buildings are kept on all night way after we leave from the workday and also tons of lights are kept on all weekend too. I just would love to know how much this really saves the World. One day they say we are not going to have enough electricity in the future and the next day they are touting new electronic cars so bottom line, I am mystified by this whole thing. If it works then explain that to us with facts.
How to throw an old tire BBQ.
1) Get a bunch of old tires.
2) Pour gasoline on them.
3) Set them on fire.
4) Be sure to eat your BBQ upwind.
It’s been so bloody cold this winter I haven’t been able to take down my Christmas lights - nothing like a good occasion to fire ‘em up again!
To ‘honour’ [sic] the global environmental initiative, we celebrated a month early by going dark for ALL of February 29th this year .....
How about getting really serious and turning off the approach lights and beacons at all major airports?
Let’s all look like North Korea. What BS
Good time for robberies to occur.
1) Get a bunch of old tires.

4) Be sure to stay upwind.
So lib-tards want to live in a cave? GO AHEAD save the earth, live in a cave w/o electricity.
Just don’t bother me while I’m watching a movie on my big tv with surround sound!
