I guess we just completely ignore that Ukraine sent combat troops to Iraq and Afghanistan for 5 years when we needed friends, and disarmed based on our promises. See my tag.

There’s also the follow-up agreement where Senators Durbin and Obama got Ukraine to destroy the bulk of the conventional Soviet arms they had (we paid for it); and President Obama reaffirmed.
