Oh, I agree, but what changed other than who would be drinking is my point. I don’t see why any grunt today can’t get a drink any more than I saw no reason to prohibit it back then.

Having been the 18 year old you described in 69 I never had a problem getting a drink. We could legally purchase alcohol on post and when in country nobody cared what age you were. When we got back it was back to real world and the 21 law. I didn’t have a problem with it. Lowering the limit is nothing but vote pandering just like the legalization of marijuana.

That argument is moot when you understand government doesn’t give a sh** about the troops or people in the country they are sent to.
When they even start heading back to the USA, they are all disarmed. Most states don’t even allow handguns until you are 21.
