There are some 3d printers that scinter metal and then the form is baked. A gun was printed that way by an outfit in Texas who posted on youtube. I print in PLA and ABS — plastics melting around 200 Centigrade with no after print bake.

I have two Ultimakers that have been moded for improvements. I am printing with nylon (242 C) now and I find it superior to ABS or PLA. However, this is driving further mods. The G3 pico extruder head is the next mod and that should get me to be able to print Polycarbonate (Lexan).
