The South Indian Ocean was low on my list of posibilities. Why fly the plane out in that area? If they do find debris I guess they will have to figure the currents to see where the plane would have been 12 days ago.

The pilots didn't intentionally fly the aircraft that direction. They were likely incapacitated or possibly deceased due to smoke inhalation from an in-flight fire, but the plane kept flying on its southwestward course until its fuel supply was exhausted.

I understand the pilots are trained to ditch a plane in that area and if there was a fire or the pilot could not control whatever happenig to the plane.... he would set it that way.

There was two piolets talking about this and both confirmed if they had to ditch a plane in an emergency situation it would be the area they’re searching now....with the understanding the plane could have been on auto-piolet for some time....until either it ran out of gas or fire melted the controls.

Climbing to 45angels and depressurizing can be fatal to humans in a short time due to lack of oxygen. Wouldn't a fire be snuffed out for the same reason?

A course change was entered into the computer at an undetermined time not less than 12 minutes before last voice transmission. This is the first problem with a fire theory.

Thai radar picked up the aircraft flying in the opposite direction of it's intended flight plan, after the last voice transmission, which held no indication of any problem that would have necessitated a course change. The flight turned at least three times - once at VAMPI, again at GIVAL and again to either the southwest or northwest, which is how we have our 'arc'. That is, the plane was flying on established 'highways', not wandering about. The last "ping" indicated normal cruising altitude(and, I assume, normal cruising speed).

So the second problem with a fire theory is, we have at least three independent maneuvers, and a final altitude at 'normal'. Unless the plane arbitrarily chose its own course, it follows that somebody very much alive was actively flying that bird. imo.
