Ukraine should have never agreed to give up the nukes it had. The major powers will not invade you if you have nukes. Just look at Pakistan and Iran. Both countries would have been given the Iraq treatment were it not for nukes (or the probability of nukes in the case of Iran). There is a danger in the frequent use of force, Other countries not being invaded conclude that the only way to avoid that fate is to develop nukes. This in no way makes me a pacifist. It makes me a realist. If we use force, we had better make sure it is absolutely necessary and vital to our national interests. If we use force, it should be overwhelming and result in decisive results. This garbage notion of playing world’s policeman and never defeating our enemies just encourages contempt in the hearts of our enemies and makes us vulnerable to counter-attack.

You are absolutely correct! Back during the Cold War France was asked why it didn't cooperate more with the US and NATO, and their response made a lot of sense - "Unlike the US, which has to kill the russian bear, we only have to cut off a paw to keep him at bay". This would be the case with The Ukraine IF it still had nukes. Yesterday another FREEPER noted that comrade bubba klinton and his thugs put a lot of pressure on the Ukraine to give up it's nukes.

Meanwhile, the klintonites, the bushies and 0bamunists have been driving America toward unilateral nuclear disarmament at warp speed.
