Israeli DM: 'We Can't Depend on US Concerning Iran’

JERUSALEM, Israel -- Israel cannot depend on the U.S. to take the lead against the Iranian nuclear program, Israeli Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said Tuesday.

His remarks came just as the P5+1 (U.S., U.K., France, Russia, China and Germany) are about to begin the next round of talks on Iran's nuclear facilities.

The U.S. should be leading the campaign against Iran, Ya'alon said, but instead it's making deals with it. Israel will do what it must to defend itself.

"We thought that the one who needs to lead the campaign against Iran is the U.S.," the defense minister said during remarks at Tel Aviv University earlier this week, the Israeli daily Ha'aretz reported.

"If we wished others would do the work for us, it wouldn't be done soon and therefore in this matter, we have to behave as if we can only rely on ourselves," Ya'alon said.

U.S. influence around the world is declining, he said, as the crisis in the Ukraine shows. Russian President Vladimir Putin seems unimpressed with President Obama's warnings.

"Weakness certainly does not pay in the world," he said. "No one can replace the U.S. as the world's policeman. I hope the U.S. will come to its senses."

He’s right.

And all you folks in Europe thinking the US will save them from Putin, guess again.

After having seen American fecklessness towards Russia, Israel should worry.

Maybe it's because we are finally coming to our senses that the days of serving as the world's policeman is coming to an end before the job bankrupts us and bleeds us to death.

Keep dragging him through Rodney King trials and the policeman will eventually quit.

With Obama, Power, Rice, Jarrett, Brennan, et. al., Israel should be planning that the US will not only not support Israel but will actively interfere with any effort by Israel to deal with Iran. As long as this administration is in power, Israel should plan as if the US were an enemy.

The correct statement would be “We can not depend on the lying, weak, backstabbing mac daddy administration to do anything to assist israel except draw meaningless red line”.

It’s not America that you can’t depend on, it’s the mac daddy administration and their total lack of creditability anywhere on the planet Earth.

Israelis can depend on Obama.

They can depend on him to side with muslims and other Jew haters.

And they can depend on him backing their enemies.

Israel isn’t stupid!

Israel only has to look at Ukraine agreeing to disarm with a guarantee that NATO and the US would help to maintain their independence and sovereignty. Well how is that “hopey changey” working for ya now Ukraine.

You negotiated that guarantee with the assumption that the US would always be a strong US lead by a strong leader. And today we find ourselves with a weak US and an IMPOTENT leader.

Who feels safe? Raise your hands — Those of you with agreements that were reached when the US was strong and said that it would have your back...How you feel’n about that treaty now - Yeah, I would be scared too.

The “six powers” and the smiling mullahs can sign whatever deal they like. However Israel will not leave Iran’s nuclear infrastructure functional and intact. Iran is a bizarre theocratic dictatorship that has made apocalyptic threats against Israel. Israel’s leaders would be catastrophically negligent if they allowed Iran to obtain or develop nuclear weapons.

I’m no longer amenable to the USA getting involved in wars. The USA is almost broke. We don’t have money to defend our borders or ourselves or provide the military with benefits. Before we start taking on the lead in another war, I want these other countries around the world to expend their own treasure, and children’s lives defending themselves. We’ll play strong safety as long as they fill out the line and take the beating .

The day before BB met Obama the President gave a interview stating that if negotiations with Abbas break down it isn’t Abbas’s fault its Israels fault. Abbas has not negotiated in years, he is only interested in getting convicted murderers out of jail as a pre condition to coming to negotiate. So far Israel release over 100 terrorist murderers and got not one sit down with Abbas.

Peace ain’t going to happen. Former Israeli PM Olmert gave an offer of 97% of the west bank to Abbas, and half of Jerusalem and Abbas turned it down.

So Obama threatened BB with the prospect that the USA would not veto UN voting sanctions against Israel.

Last week Kerry said that “declaring a Jewish State of Isreal” is not important in negotiations with Abbas.

Kerry why was Israel founded, and if you ask Holocaust survivors, Jews expelled from Arab lands, and former Soviet Jews if the fact that Israel is the last refuge for Jews who are victims of Antisemitism they will tell you the Jewish nature of Israel saved their lives.

The White House was shocked by Moshe Ya’alon’s comments, which seriously call into question his commitments to Israel’s relationship with the United States,

a senior administration official told The Jerusalem Post on Tuesday night.

I think Israel has thought this for some time now with Obama in office. It has just reached the point where they are making it public or official.
