I stated on another thread that I had heard verbally that Dees and the SPLC secretly financed WBC. However I have not seen anything “on paper” to back that up although it sure seems possible.
BTW, if y’all ever see media darling Dees on the tube try turning off the sound and look real close at his face. That is one creepy weirdo.

I checked out this video of him speaking.
He really comes off like a professional speaker even a pastor. He’s speaking at a liberal Christian university I suppose with a cross in the background. Probably Methodist - I just checked it it. The leadership of that denomination seem to like all things Anti-Biblical and Anti-Christian.
Morris Dees is a false prophet as far as I’m concerned.
I recall seeing a bio about them in the early 90’s and the organization was really just a couple of Christian hating lawyer’s working out of their house / office and able to garner a lot of support from liberal causes and all facets of American society. But still just a couple of people that somehow get to act as professional adjudicators as to what is acceptable in the public realm or in America when it comes to all religious and social issues. Only in a world gone insane. The comments on that you tube video say in some papers about Dees divorce that his ex-wife has some horrible things about him I won’t repeat - see for yourself.
I wouldn’t be surprised if SPLC supported WBC however probably the same groups - money from foundations or some government agency that might want to remain anonymous could easily find some surreptitious way to support WBC.
